All the cakes in the cafe are baked by volunteers like yourself, so if you like eating cake then come along and bake for the cafe. Whether you are an experienced cake-baker or a complete novice get involved, learn and have fun. We have regular baking sessions at the Friend's Meeting House just down the road, every Tuesday, 1.30pm (meet in the cafe to gather ingredients) until 4.30pm, find it and sign up on the volunteering schedule.
As well as this, we are very happy for people to donate cakes made at home, so please please do!
RECIPES/Ingredients :
We have a variety of recipes (see our recipe page), but if you have a recipe that you'd like to make that requires something not on the list below then buy it, keep the receipt and you'll be reimbursed. Please try to follow the cafe's policy of only using vegetarian ingredients, and buying fairtrade, organic, vegan, freerange, and local produce where possible, using independent shops rather than big corporations, and use our stock of ingredients where possible rather than buying your own.
