Welfare Wednesdays @ the Cafe Project
This year\, CUSU Welfare wants to start tackling some of the taboo subjects that Welfare Campaigns deal with\: &lsquo\;Why are we living through a sexual health epidemic in this country?&rsquo\;\, &lsquo\;How can we promote positive body image and tackle eating disorders?&rsquo\;\, &lsquo\;How does student depression affect studies?&rsquo\;. \; To truly tackle these issues we need to start understanding them from the grass roots. \; Every week\, CUSU Welfare will be posing controversial questions to do with a range of issues and invite you to come and discuss them with us. \; The cafe project is hosting it\: helping us bring together students and the local community and get to grips with welfare issues affecting our society today. \; For more information email welfare@cusu.cam.ac.uk or come along\, Wednesdays from 5-6.30 during term time (15th October to 3rd December).

Come along to watch this powerful and thought-provoking documentary\, then sign the Stop AIDS Campaign's current postcard petition\, "\;Push for the Pool"\;\, calling for the creation of a patent pool to enable vital ARVs to be manufactured as generic drugs and sold to developing countries at affordable prices.

About Wednesday Hub Nights\: Come along to Hub Nights at the Café\; Project (on Jesus Lane) every Wednesday during term-time\, from 7pm till late! The evening starts with a short event\, such as a film screening\, organised by a different member group each week. This provides a regular focus for people interested in learning more about different social issues\, from climate change to human rights to international development. Afterwards\, the Café\; remains open so discussion can continue informally over tea\, coffee and cake.
