Join us in creating and running an awesome cafe in the centre of Cambridge! There are several ways you can get involved in the project. The first thing you should do is to create an account on this website and join our mailing list, if you haven't already done so. The next steps depend on you would like to do...

Volunteering

Volunteering in the cafe is fun: you can bake cakes or prepare and bring food, or serve and sell in the cafe. You can volunteer together with a friend, or bring your own music to play! As the Cafe Project is completely volunteer run, we always need more volunteers. 

To volunteer, log in and then browse the regular openings and events to see when we still need volunteers. You can then sign up for the time-slots you are interested in. You could also read the volunteering guide before your first session, and if it's your first time email soc-cafe-volunteers XXX lists.cam.ac.uk (where XXX stands for @), so we can go through everything with you or pair you up with someone who can.

Organise an event or exhibition

Interested in organising an event or exhibition in the cafe? Then get in touch with our event management group at soc-cafe-events XXX lists.cam.ac.uk (where XXX stands for @). You can also check our use of space policy and see if any other events are happening via the calendar at the bottom left of this page.

Cafe Project Management

Join us in planning, organising and managing the cafe project -- we need your help! We meet up regularly to discuss general cafe project issues, and we also have a number of working groups that work on specific issues such as volunteer management, event management, the library, finances etc.

If you are interested, just come along to our next general meeting! (listed under events). You could also join our internal discussion mailing list here, and one or more working groups, by clicking the appropriate group on the left and applying to join.
