CUID Open Debate 3: 'Industrial and foreign trade policy'

13/11/2008 - 19:30
13/11/2008 - 23:00

CUID open debates are informal discussion groups which meet every other Thursday at the Cafe Project on Jesus Lane to talk about development issues. They are quite small scale and participants are encouraged to share their views with the rest of the group. A small amount of prior knowledge is usually required, but only a small amount!

Joe believes that industrial and foreign trade and investment policy are inseparable and critically important. In this session he will mention the experiences of East Asia with regards to industrial and foreign policy, particularly scrutinising the 'liberal' thinking on these issues. He will highlight policy differences between North-East Asia, South-East Asia and China as a means to illuminate global policy variation.
